Introduction

ManiFiesta is a yearly two-day festival by the Belgian coast, organized by Geneeskunde voor het Volk and Solidair. Since 2010, it has brought together music, political debate, lectures, culture, dance, youth activities, and even gastronomy - all in one buzzing, community-driven event.

They came to us for a fresh new user interface - on that could match the festival’s lively energy. And we were more than happy to help bring that spirit online.

Challenges

ManiFiesta already had a strong, recognizable branding - but they asked us to take a fresh look at it and push it further. They wanted something playful yet powerful. A design that captured the joy af a festival, without losing structure or impact.

One of the biggest challenges was using all their brand colors throughout the site, without overwhelming the visitor. The goal was to create a sense of fun and variety, but still keep everything feeling cohesive and easy on the eyes.

Design

To breathe new life into the branding, we worked with dynamic shapes and scribbles - used as background textures or as little accents throughout the design. They instantly give the site a lively rhythm, like confetti you can scroll through.

All brand colors were used, but with intention: soft tones for backgrounds and text, vibrant ones for buttons, icons, highlights and scribbles. This balance makes the site feel joyful and energetic, without becoming chaotic.

We also brought in a bubbly icon set from Nucleo and used rounded edges on images and cards to add a layer of charm. It’s playful, bright, and 100% ManiFiesta.

Result

The final website turned out exactly how the client imagined it: over the top, fun, and unmistakably unique. Just like the festival itself.
